Game Duration:

Each Glow in the Dark Badminton match lasts 40 minutes, split into two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute halftime break. Teams will compete in a thrilling, high-energy environment where the court and shuttlecock are aglow.

Gym Setup:

Playing Surface: The badminton court is outlined with glowing tape, and the net and boundary lines are highlighted with neon colors for enhanced visibility.

Shuttlecocks and Rackets: Special glow-in-the-dark shuttlecocks and neon-colored rackets are used, ensuring they are easily visible and adding to the excitement of the game.

Rules and Regulations:

Team Composition:

Singles: Each match features one player per side (1 vs. 1).

Doubles: Each match features two players per side (2 vs. 2).

Substitutes: In doubles matches, teams can have up to 1 substitute player, who may only be used during the halftime break or for injury-related reasons.

Objective:

The objective is to score points by hitting the shuttlecock over the net and into the opponent’s court, making it so they cannot return it.

A point is scored when the shuttlecock lands in the opponent’s court, or when the opponent commits a fault.

Gameplay:

Serving: Each game begins with a serve from behind the service line. The shuttlecock must be hit below the server’s waist and land in the opponent’s service box.

Hits: Players can hit the shuttlecock once per side before it must be returned over the net. The shuttlecock must not touch the floor or outside the court boundaries.

Net Play: Players must not touch the net or reach over it to hit the shuttlecock.

Scoring:

Rally Scoring System: Points are awarded on every rally, regardless of which side served. Matches are typically played to 21 points, with a requirement to win by at least 2 points.

Deuce: If the score reaches a tie at 20-20, play continues until one player or team gains a 2-point advantage.

Penalties:

Minor Penalties: Include serving faults or hitting the shuttlecock out of bounds. Minor penalties result in a point for the opposing side and a service change.

Major Penalties: Include net violations or unsportsmanlike conduct. Major penalties may result in point deductions or player ejections.

Conduct and Sportsmanship:

Players must demonstrate respect for opponents and the referee. Unsportsmanlike behavior, such as arguing or aggressive play, will not be tolerated and may result in penalties.

The referee enforces rules and manages disputes to ensure fair play and sportsmanship.

Referee:

A single, trained referee oversees the match, ensuring that the rules are followed, managing the game’s pace, and resolving any conflicts or disputes.

The referee’s decisions are final and are aimed at maintaining a fair and enjoyable experience for all players.

Halftime Break:

A 5-minute halftime break allows players to rest and strategize. Players must remain in their designated areas and cannot participate in the game during this time.

Winning the Game:

The player or team with the most points at the end of the 40 minutes wins. In the event of a tie, a sudden-death point may be played to determine the winner.
