Rules and Regulations:
1. Field Dimensions:
– The playing field is set up in a school gymnasium, approximately 40 yards long and 20 yards wide, with clear boundaries marked by glowing tape or paint.
2. Team Composition:
– Each team consists of 5 players, including a goalkeeper. Teams can have up to 3 substitutes.
3. Game Duration:
– A match is played in two halves, each lasting 20 minutes, with a 5-minute halftime break, totaling 40 minutes of play. The clock runs continuously, except for injuries or timeouts.
4. Equipment:
– Players must wear fluorescent jerseys provided by the organizers. Appropriate indoor soccer shoes are required. All players must wear shin guards for safety.
5. Ball Specifications:
– A size 4 glow-in-the-dark soccer ball must be used. The ball should be properly inflated and visible in low-light conditions.
6. Scoring:
– A goal is scored when the entire ball crosses the goal line between the goalposts. Each goal is worth one point.
7. Fouls and Free Kicks:
– Standard soccer fouls apply. Free kicks are awarded for fouls committed outside the penalty area. Direct free kicks can be taken from the spot of the foul.
8. Penalty Kicks:
– A penalty kick is awarded for fouls committed within the penalty area. The kick is taken from a designated spot 10 feet from the goal.
9. Substitutions:
– Substitutions can be made at any stoppage in play, but players must enter and exit the field at the designated substitution area.
10. Referee:
– Each game is officiated by one referee, who is responsible for enforcing the rules, managing the game flow, and ensuring player safety.
11. Conduct:
– Players are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship. Any form of unsportsmanlike conduct, including aggressive behavior or foul language, may result in a warning or ejection from the game.
12. Safety Regulations:
– Players must adhere to safety guidelines to prevent injuries. Any player who is injured must leave the field for evaluation before returning to play.
