Court Setup:
- Playing Surface: The volleyball court is outlined with glowing tape, and the net and boundary lines are highlighted with neon colors for enhanced visibility.
- Volleyballs: Special glow-in-the-dark volleyballs are used, ensuring they are easily visible and adding to the overall excitement of the game.
Rules and Regulations:
- Team Composition:
- Each team consists of 6 players on the court at a time.
- Teams can have up to 2 substitute players.
- Substitutions are allowed only during the halftime break or in the event of an injury timeout.
- Objective:
- The main objective is to score points by sending the volleyball over the net and into the opponent’s court without them successfully returning it.
- A point is scored when the ball lands in the opponent’s court, or when the opposing team commits a fault.
- Gameplay:
- Serving: Each game begins with a serve from behind the baseline. Players must serve the ball over the net into the opponent’s court.
- Hits: Teams are allowed up to three touches to return the ball over the net. The ball must not touch the ground on the team’s side, nor can it be held or carried.
- Net Play: Players cannot touch the net during play. Any net violation results in a point for the opposing team.
- Scoring:
- Rally Scoring System: Points are awarded on every rally, regardless of which team served. The game is played to a set number of points (e.g., 25), with a requirement to win by at least 2 points.
- Deuce: If the score reaches a tie (e.g., 24-24), play continues until one team gains a 2-point advantage.
- Penalties:
- Minor Penalties: Include violations such as foot faults on the serve or hitting the ball out of bounds. Minor penalties result in a point for the opposing team and serve change.
- Major Penalties: Include net violations or intentional misconduct. Major penalties result in a point for the opposing team and possible player ejection.
- Conduct and Sportsmanship:
- Players are expected to show respect towards opponents and the referee. Any form of unsportsmanlike conduct, including aggressive behavior or inappropriate language, will result in penalties.
- The referee has the authority to issue warnings or eject players for serious infractions.
- Referee:
- A single, trained referee manages the game, ensuring adherence to the rules, overseeing gameplay, and resolving disputes.
- The referee’s decisions are final and aimed at maintaining a fair and enjoyable game.
- Halftime Break:
- A 5-minute halftime break provides teams with time to strategize and rest. Players must remain in their designated areas during this break.
- Winning the Game:
- The team with the most points at the end of the 40 minutes wins. In the event of a tie, a sudden-death overtime period may be played to determine the winner.
